Keep a journal.
You don’t have to be a phenomenal writer for journaling to be a great release. Journaling is one of the best ways to unwind because you’re able to get all of your thoughts and feelings out. It can be pretty cathartic. If you’re feeling stressed after a long, hard week of working, let it all out in a journal. Let out your frustrations, but don’t forget to write about the great things that happened over the week.
Do some yoga.
A few yoga poses to help you stretch and focus on your breathing are amazing for releasing tension at the end of a day. Head to a yoga class this weekend and say goodbye to the frustrations of the past week. If you don’t want to head to a class, do your yoga session at home or even outside!
You can have a list of ways to unwind without including meditation, right? It’s a fantastic way to relax and clear your mind. If you haven’t tried meditating before, it may seem impossible to shut your mind off. If that’s the case, check out one of the meditation videos on YouTube to guide you through the process. Or check out Melanie Bundock’s guided meditations, which are the ones I use!
Netflix and chill.
Ask anyone what their favorite ways to unwind are and many of them would probably include Netflix on that list. If you’re ready for a weekend on the couch, binge watch your favorite TV show or find a new one to obsess over. Just don’t forget the snacks!
Have a pampering session.
Ladies, I’m sure you know one of the best ways to unwind is with a little pampering. Make time for yourself this weekend to relax with a hot bath, a face mask, and even a homemade hair mask. Not only will you feel great when you’re done, you’ll look great, too! Or you can grab your best friend and hit the spa for a special treat!
