But hey, it keeps things running smoothly here at Define Your Hustle HQ!
Some of you may have noticed that I took the last two months off of publishing my monthly goals. I didn’t even fill out my PowerSheets for those two months either.
For some reason, I just wasn’t feeling called to formally set goals.
Does that mean I didn’t accomplish anything? No! I still got things done within my business, but if I’m being honest… I felt a little unfocused not having those clear goals set for myself.
With my PowerSheets, I had become accustomed to giving myself monthly, weekly, and daily goals. But for two months, I abandoned all of that. And instead of forcing myself to do something because I put it on a list, I made the decision to just go with the flow. I made the decision to become more intentional.
And I’m allowing myself to let that shape the goals I’m setting for August.
1. Create a More Intentional Daily Routine
Before, I was setting these daily goals for myself with my PowerSheets. Those goals were habits that I definitely wanted to develop, such as meditating and journaling. And because those goals were important to me, I did them every single day. However, there were times when I forced myself to do something just so I could check it off the list.
For example, I meditated every day from January through May because it was on my daily goals list. Meditation is important to me, but it just got to a point where it didn’t mean anything anymore. I was doing it just because I told myself I had to. Not because it felt good or because I saw benefits.
There are times when we have to make ourselves do something we don’t want to, like working out. But this isn’t one of those things. I was meditating and journaling because I told myself it was a necessity. And in the end, it became more of a chore and I wasn’t getting any real value from it.
Going forward, I want to be more intentional with my daily routine. I want to incorporate the habits that feel good, instead of forcing myself to do something just because it’s on a to-do list. That doesn’t mean I’m going to stop meditating, give up journaling, or whatever. It just means I’m going to stop pushing those things on myself and do them when it feels right.
2. Get Ahead of Schedule With Content Creation
When it comes to my business, nothing is quite as satisfying as getting ahead with my content creation. When I know that my blog posts and YouTube videos are finished and scheduled in advance, it frees up my time to focus on other projects. One of my goals for this month is to stay on top of my content.
I want to get everything created and scheduled early on. It can be kind of intimidating when you have two new pieces of content to create each week. However, I’ve done this in the past and I know how happy it makes me. Once August’s content is taken care of, I’ll be moving ahead to September. With September’s blog posts and videos done, it’ll allow me more time to just enjoy my 30th birthday.
3. Create a New Workshop
One of the things I’ve started to incorporate into my routine is Morning Pages. I’ve never done this before. But if you’re not familiar, it’s where you write three pages of thoughts at the start of your day. I really doubted whether or not this would be beneficial for me. I decided to give it a try though.
And you know what? It’s actually been key to me having a few important breakthroughs. It led to an idea for creating a live workshop that I can offer to all of you lovely ladies who read my blog. This month, I want to plan the workshop and create all the content. As for when it’ll go live, I’m not sure yet.
Unfortunately, my internet situation living in a rural neighborhood isn’t the most reliable for a live workshop. However, I am moving soon… I just don’t want to wait too long before releasing the workshop. But keep your eyes peeled because it will be all about making your first $1k as a blogger!
4. Make Progress With My Mastermind
For the past month, I’ve been participating in a mastermind that’s centered around your money mindset. I think it’s so important that we work on ourselves and make investments in our success. (It’s why I think it’s so important to invest in your blog!) And this mastermind is just one of the ways I’m doing that this year.
Although I often read books about mindset, it simply doesn’t compare to having a live group of incredible women to interact with. It’s been an opportunity for me to learn and grow personally and within my business. And I can’t wait to see what unfolds over the final two months of this mastermind.
5. Read Two Books
I know I’ve said this before, but I really have to be in the mood to read books. Because of that, it’s sometimes takes a while for me to finish books. I’m also guilty of having tons of unread books on my bookshelf, but yet I order even more from Amazon. So, this is me making a commitment to reading more.
What’s on my list?
- I want to finish Creating Money. This is something I’ve been consuming little by little and just soaking up the information. It’s such an incredible book and I highly recommend it if you need help manifesting money.
- Then, I want to reread Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. It’s been a long time since I’ve read the series and I think summer is the perfect time to do so. Since I have the illustrated version of the book, I’m going to give that a read this month.
