Can you believe the last month of 2017 has arrived?
I don’t know about you, but it’s crazy to think just how quickly this year has flown by. It seems like it wasn’t long ago that we were ringing in this very year we’re about to say goodbye to. And although the year is wrapping up and holidays are upon us, that doesn’t mean I’ll be slacking on work this month. I doubt any of you will be either!
So, it’s time to set monthly goals for one last time in 2017. Throughout the weeks ahead, I’m going to be busy preparing for 2018 to ensure the new year starts off on the right foot. There’s a lot I want to accomplish in that time and I’m confident I’ll be able to tackle it all.
1. Publish the Blogging Bombshell Course
One of my top priorities this month is to publish my Blogging Bombshell course. In case you missed it, I ran a special deal for those who pre-ordered the course during the Black Friday through Cyber Monday weekend. Although people were able to purchase the course early, it doesn’t officially launch until Monday, December 5th. That means my students have to wait until then to access all the lessons!
However, as I write this, that date is right around the corner. The lessons are ready to be published, but I just need to get them uploaded into Teachable. Then, everyone will have access to all of my advice on successfully starting, launching, and growing a blog.
If you missed out on the pre-order deal, that’s okay! You can still enroll in the course!
2. Take Part in Vlogmas
Vlogmas is when you vlog every day leading up to Christmas. And I’ve been watching Vlogmas videos from some of my favorite YouTubers for years now. I’ve always wanted to participate in it myself, but I didn’t have a YouTube channel before. Now that I do, it only makes sense that I give Vlogmas a go this year!
The thing is, I’ve never vlogged before. And if you follow me on Instagram, you probably know I’m not so great at consistently sharing content on Instagram Stories either. So, I have no idea how Vlogmas is going to go for me this year. However, I’m going to give it a shot and see what happens! You never know unless you try, right?
I’ll be sharing weekly vlogs over on my YouTube channel all month long. This is going to be your opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look into my life and business. Plus, I want these videos to have valuable lessons and actionable tips that you can learn from. Each vlog will have some sort of educational segment with tips you can apply in your own business.
If you’re interested in seeing what I get up to every day, make sure you follow along!
3. Refresh My Website for the New Year
Another thing I want to accomplish this month is a mini website refresh. I doubt I’ll be changing the theme for my site, as I’m pretty happy with the one I have. Although, there are a few main pages that could use an update. To ensure my site is ready for the year ahead, I want to refresh a few key pages, update images and other design elements, as well as a few other things.
If you think your site could use a facelift or a full makeover, this is a great time to start working on it. There’s no better feeling than a shiny, new website to ring in 2018! And might I suggest checking out Restored 316 Designs if you’re looking for a new theme that runs on the Genesis Framework? Lauren’s designs are the best!
4. Use My PowerSheets to Prepare for 2018
With the new year right around the corner, it’s important to make some plans for the months ahead. In 2018, I’ll actually be using the Cultivate What Matters PowerSheets for the first time ever. I’m hoping this goal setting planner will help me efficiently plan out my year and stay on the right path. There’s a lot that I want to accomplish and I need something that’s going to keep me on track. Hopefully, the PowerSheets will be it!
I’ve already started working on my PowerSheets and I’ve been enjoying the process so far. If you haven’t tried using this planner, I highly recommend it!
5. Read at Least Two New Books
With everything I have planned for the month ahead, I kind of wonder how I could even fit anything else in. I mean, I’ll be daily vlogging, publishing two new blog posts per week, and more. However, that’s not going to stop me from attempting to read at least two new books.
Reading is a great way to relax and take time for yourself, so it’s going to be part of my self-care routine this month. I plan to finish reading Killing Marketing by Joe Pulizzi and Robert Rose, which I started a few weeks back. After that, I’d like to read Gary Vaynerchuk’s The Thank You Economy and then dive into something Christmassy. Quite the selection, I know! But how can you pass up a Christmas read during the month of December?! You just can’t! And Jenny Hale’s Christmas novels are my favorite for a fun, light read.
