We’ve made it to 2017, friends! I don’t know about you, but the start of another year is always an exciting one for me. While it’s true that you don’t have to wait until a new year to make a change in your life, it just gives you that feeling of a fresh start. As you think about the year ahead, imagine all of the possibilities. Imagine all of the amazing opportunities you can attract into your life. The possibilities are endless! Whatever you dream up for 2017, you can create it.
With that said, I’ve lately been reflecting on what I want to accomplish in 2017. I’ve been thinking about personal resolutions I want to stick to. I’ve also been thinking about business goals I’d like to achieve. While I’m still working on my full 2017 business plan, I have a lot of exciting ideas on my mind that I need to work out. And that’s something I’m really looking forward to!
Anyway, as in true monthly tradition, it’s time for me to share my January goals with you all. If you’ve set some January goals for yourself, be sure to leave a comment and tell me what they are. I’d love to hear what you’ll be working towards this month!
1. Get back to blogging and stick to my schedule.
Because my mind has been on other projects lately, the blogging side of my business has been seriously neglected. This month, one of my goals is to get back to my usual blogging schedule, which is three posts per week. In order to do this, it’s all about planning my editorial calendar in advance and batch writing posts. There’s nothing I hate more than waiting until the last minute to write blog posts (yet here I am doing it with this one). I prefer to have my posts written and scheduled in advance so I don’t have to worry about it.
I used to be on a great schedule where I batch wrote all of my blog posts every Friday. By doing this, they were written and ready to go for the week ahead. It took so much stress off me and allowed me to focus on other tasks. That’s what I want to get back to this month! You should plan on seeing more blog posts from me this month. And if you don’t, I give you full permission to nag me on Twitter until I publish something. (Okay, I’m just kidding about that!)
2. Update all of my blog post images.
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you’ve likely become accustomed to seeing the same image designs on all of my blog posts. In fact, I’ve been using those same designs for a year now. While I do think it’s great to stick to a design because it makes your images easily recognizable, these are in need of a refresher. Plus, when I rebranded my site back in November, I never went through and changed all the older images that still contain my old blog URL. That’s gotta go!
3. Create my business plan for the full year.
I have to admit something to you all. I’m kind of the queen of procrastination. When I don’t feel like doing something, I will put it off until the absolute last minute possible. Which is why I’m here in January without a plan for my business this year. Do I have ideas of what I’d like to do and create? Absolutely! Do I have a plan to help me get there? Nope.
You see, the thought of sitting down to plan out the whole year is always a little intimidating and overwhelming. However, if I want to stay on track and achieve all of my business goals for 2017, I need a plan in place. (And you do, too!) So, priority number one this month is to get my business plan in order.
4. Focus on my health and wellness.
In the last half of 2016, I was diagnosed with an auto-immune thyroid disease called Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism. I was also diagnosed with a non-Celiac gluten sensitivity. Although my condition is totally manageable, it is something I will have for the rest of my life. And being diagnosed was kind of an emotional thing because I had no idea there was actually something wrong with me. As a result, it really sparked me to make a change when it came to my health.
In late October, I completely cut gluten from my diet due to my sensitivity and the effects gluten has on my body when paired with my auto-immune disease. I’ve also started working out more often and being more aware of the foods I put into my body. This is something I want to make sure I continue in January and throughout 2017. I’m a big fan of Tone It Up and I’ll be following their weekly workout plans, as I’ve done in the past. My goal is to get at least 30 minutes of exercise every single day in January, which is something I’ve already been doing for the past month. I can’t wait to do it all over again!
